The Past Beats like a Second Heart
I started reading and was completely enthralled by her story. The narrative unfolds naturally, balancing grief, humor, and personal reflection without feeling overly heavy. ★★★★★

Everything Is Real
I laughed. I sobbed. It was so real. Life After Eve is the kind of book that makes you feel seen in ways you weren't prepared for. It's about what it costs to outrun yourself and where you come from — and what happens when you finally stop long enough to face everything home has been waiting to show you and tell you all along.

A Story of Humanity
Captivating read that combined all the elements of a great story. It's a great reminder that everyone has a backstory that has shaped them...

A Reading Group Must!
Life After Eve unfolds a rich tapestry of mother/child relationship choices as it examines the fine line between love and hate and how these choices ripple into other lives. Cassie Eickhoff creates a story of new beginnings and surprising confrontations. A compelling saga of silence, courage, love, growth, and the motivations behind drives for achievement. All these facets and more make Life After Eve an excellent read that’s also highly recommended for women’s reading group discussions.

Life After Eve completely captured my heart. As someone who moved away from my small Nebraska hometown years ago while my best friend still lives there, I related so deeply to Eve's journey. The emotions of leaving, building a new life somewhere else, and then being pulled back to confront the past felt incredibly authentic.
One of my favorite parts of this novel was the friendship between Eve and Mia. Their bond felt so genuine and real—exactly the kind of lifelong friendship that can survive distance, time, and life's challenges. I saw so much of myself and my own best friend in their relationship.

Most often we forget about the gift of not knowing what tomorrow brings. When we get the opportunity to look at our journey and digest what made us who we are, in those moments, we define and redefine today. This story reflects what what was doesn’t have to be what is.

I cried while reading your book. I didn't even know that tears needed to leave my body. The characters, emotions, and breakdowns. That's real life.

This is an absolute masterpiece of storytelling. I found myself deeply invested in the emotional journeys of the characters and truly sad to turn the final page.

As someone who, like Eve, has a deceased alcoholic mother, I was surprised at how my 14 years of self-reflection suddenly seemed… inept next to Eve’s. Every time I thought Eve hit rock bottom, there was more. And as she hit each layer, so did I. It was gut-wrenching in the worst and best way, because while I hurt next to Eve, I also grew with her. By the final page, I felt more whole than I have in a long time.

One of the book’s greatest strengths is how immersive it feels. The author does an incredible job of bringing each scene to life, making you feel as though you are right there alongside the characters, experiencing every challenge, triumph, and surprise with them. The plot is engaging and full of moments that keep you guessing, making it difficult to put the book down.
